FA Cup Third Round Draw

The draw was pretty harsh – only four guaranteed places in the fourth round, with eight teams drawn against Premier League opposition, six of whom will have to travel.

First Day Games Announced

The first weekend of the 2015/16 season will start on Saturday 8th August 2015 with the following games:

Birmingham City v Reading

Blackburn Rovers v Wolves

Bolton v Derby

Brentford v Ipswich

Brighton v Nottingham Forest

Cardiff v Fulham

Charlton v QPR

Hull v Huddersfield

Leeds v Burnley

Preston v Middlesbrough

Rotherham v MK Dons

Sheffield Wednesday v Bristol City

The match at Griffin Park between the two losing playoff semi finalists looks like a contender for game of the weekend, but I wouldn’t expect all of these games to kick off at 3:00pm on Saturday afternoon. The first round of the Capital One cup was drawn on Monday, but as I’m in summer holiday mode right now I’ll let you look those games up yourselves. See you in about a month, when the season preview will appear.

First Day Fixtures Plus Carling Cup Ties

All kick offs 3pm unless stated. Sorry to be a bit cryptic but the company that ‘owns’ the fixture list can be a bit touchy about how it’s used. As a non profit making independent football blog I think we might be OK, but you never know.

Sunday 10th August:

The Old Golds v The Canaries (4:oopm, Sky Sports TBC)

Carling Cup First Round:

Monday 11th August

Carlisle v The Rams (I’m guessing this will be live on Sky Sports)

Tuesday 12th August

* Subject to change as the other Sheffield team has also been drawn at home

Wednesday 13th August

Coventry v The ‘Bluebirds’

All games scheduled for the first weekend in August, although given the precedent of the last couple of seasons I wouldn’t be at all surprised if one of these games gets moved to a Friday night TV slot.

Derby v Blackburn

Doncaster v Blackpool

Leeds v Brighton
